Absolutely terrible. They are completely understaffed yet continue to keep accepting more clients while neglecting the ones they already had. Staff were completely incompetent. “No touch” facility, yet clients there were playing 7 minutes in heaven and kissing… staff didn’t do anything about it. They also ignore bullying. They had clear favorites. Supposedly we have access to our team 24/7 - a complete lie. Nurses were incompetent and neglectful. I could go on and on. I went here and ended up dealing with weird staff and rude patients. had to run away and they never give u a room break especially when your severely tired. they even have school even though it also drains your mental health. BIG nope for me.
When a facility doesn't even know what they offer, it's generally a red flag. In the 48hrs of dealing with them, they: - made an intake appointment for the next day for my 12yr old - texted me that night saying they messed up the date and time and offered me 2 other times. Although Newport Academy didn’t physically abuse me, they left me physically disabled. The trauma I endured from this program left me with a disabling chronic illness I have to live with for the rest of my life. They took my life away from me and that is what I resent the most. In 2022 I was there for 72 days, not even three months. In that time I was neglected medical care, screamed at by staff as well as staff yelling at each other, left hungry, and belittled. If i could give this place a zero i would. I genuinely cannot describe how awful being there was. I went into Newport with depression and suicidal thoughts. I left feeling worse than when I arrived. Staff picked favorites to an extreme amount and avoided and pretended the bullying did not exist. Sexual harassment claims were ignored. Please for the love of anything you believe DONT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS RESIDENTIAL OR PHP OR IOP!!! it literally could not be worse. I wanted to die more in this program than i did out of it.
