We brought our 8-year-old child to Newport Academy in Irvine specifically because we were seeking help for significant aggression. We were completely upfront about this during the phone intake. We were told that aggression itself was not disqualifying and that it would only become an issue if he actually acted aggressively while there. That is not what happened when we arrived. Loki got mold in the vents Also some of the therapists were under qualified and when I tried getting my individual therapist switched they did nothing and said to just “work it out” but the ccs and the counselor were really sweet and the outing were almost always fun so overall not that bad (also a lot of drama)
I went to Newport at 15. When I was admitted I absolutely did not want to be there and had no plans in get better. Long story short my stay at Newport gave me hope for my future. I’ve been able to become the person I’ve always wanted to be. Dr. Duna was an amazing family therapist. Most of the CCs were great and happy to help us. My daughter has been to several mental health facilities over the years, unfortunately, but I would say that this one is the very best of the best! The counselors and nursing staff are especially excellent, and I would recommend this facility wholeheartedly if your child qualifies to be here.
I was here about June of 2024 and it wasn't terrible. I was at the Roger's house but had to leave due to multiple incidents regarding my mental health. They really worked with me when I was struggling through my eating disorder. I will always remember Rebecca, Patrick, am Kat and pm Kat, and Sean. I was a hot mess and never got to writing a review.
