My child was sent here pre-covid. They took her off campus and she ran away. They were about to kick her out, with no aftercare- then they suggested a wilderness program. The transport team dumped her in an ER mid-journey- and the hospital there said she was fine. She was not. She was visibly manic. Nobody bothered to adjust her meds. I was at Newport Academy in 2023. My experience wasn’t perfect but it was better than most places I’ve been to. I would suggest this above 90% of programs. If your kid needs help, definitely explore at home options at first. But if they are still struggling, Newport may be a really good option.
Over promise and under produce should be the slogan for Newport! My daughter was here for 40 days, and most of her time was spent coloring. We were promised so many things before she was admitted. As soon as she was admitted and we left, it was radio silence for days. I had to reach out to 2 Directors to find out what was going on.
