Love that Newport doesn’t push meds and supports whole person wellness. I feel like my daughter and I were both heard and finally started healing as a family. She had a great experience here. Staff was helpful, knowledgeable, communicative, and professional.
I noticed that there weren't any reviews from actual patients. Here I am. The therapist I had didn't help me through any of my problems. I told her my main problem was body image. Over the 47 days I was there, we only ever talked about family and body image. I have other problems and I brought them up, but she didn't talk about the other ones for any longer than 5 minutes. Our 15-year-old spent approximately six weeks at Newport Academy in Seymour, CT, and overall we had a positive experience. The adjustment period was challenging at first, but once they settled in, we saw meaningful progress and growth. The staff was supportive, and the program helped our child begin the healing process and develop healthier coping skills.
