Loyal customer – Such great food , we have been going there for about 10 years. Give them a try if you like Japanese food, you wont be disappointed.
good food – We went here looking for something fried but ended up getting chicken katsu curry. They were supposed to have a ramen they were famous for according to some advertisement but it was no frills. all the other food was good.
Suprising! – I was invited by a friend to New Zen for a premium sake tasting. Primarily I went to go see a good friend of mine. As far as outward appearance, I was not expecting much given that this place is nestled in a eighties looking plaza. But what a surprise!
Charming – New Zen was charmingly decorated. High ceilings with the sushi chef taking up a good chunk of the corner, like a stage. The menu was extensive and they even offer a menu in "manga"! The sushi offerings were creative and I have a feeling that the Japanese food there is more authentic then most places. The agedeshi tofu and the calamari was delicious. The sushi was fresh and well made.
Good food – Great ,friendly service. its a pretty good hidden gem.
Great Service – They offer premium sake tastings, I would suggest checking it out. The Japanese sake and beer distributor comes by and offers generous samples to patrons in hopes to sway the restaurant to place a large order.
I feel like I am home in Japan – Every time I step in to this restaurant, smell soooo good, just like I'm home in Japan. Their Daily Lunch Special is variety of food with this little "So-men" noodle soup is delicious, and price is $11.00 so cheap for this combination. You must try this!

Pros: Monday is now Open! started 6/1/09.
Good Sushi But Watch The Prices! – I ordered the nigiri sushi whose the prices were in-line with many other sushi restaurants in the Seattle area (and I love sushi, so I go to many). And the sushi was very good. Small amount of warm rice, nice cut of very fresh fish - I really enjoyed it. Until I got the bill. The scallop nigiri sushi ($4.50 on the menu) was charged at $7.50 because I asked for it "creamy" (chopped with a bit of mayo & spicy sauce). I ask for my scallop nigiri sushi this way in every sushi restaurant and it'... read more
Business response:
I remember you clearly. You sit down at Sushi Bar yourself, and order only 2 different kind of Nigiri Sushi. You are very enjoying our sushi, until check came. You asked price of Creamy Scallop Nigiri " It is too high price compare the place I eat at Edokko in Kent. They are cheaper than you". Regular Nigiri Scallop use 1 Scallop. Creamy use 2 scallop with Tobiko that I explain to you. So, $4.50 for 1, I should charge you $9.00 for 2 then. It made you more sense? Do you have any experience to calculate of cost of good? After... read more
