New York sports club is a bunch of scam artist and you should beware. I have been a member of New York sports club for over 20 years and my wife has become ill, I merely asked them if I can freeze her account until she is medically OK, but instead they tell me that it will be 15.99 to freeze her account despite her account cost 19.99 a month. This is the worst place you’d ever want to join. Me and my wife joined in Oct 2018 and were told renovations would start by January. By June the place was even worse with machines breaking and remaining broken everyday. We then got an email that our membership would be going up when we were told it was locked in at the rate we joined. As of July I had a picture with 14 machines broken the same day. The gym does not maintain its machines. There is water leaking from the ceiling on to the machines below and nothing is really done about it. NYSC continues to charge fees even after cancellation. Do not recommend this dying gym.
There are a bunch of classes and fun BUT! I got the bad experience of cancellation policy. I informed the staff to cancel my membership. It took about a month and few days AS SHE SAID. I was fine. After that, the gym charge my DEC monthly with the increased fee without telling me (37$ to 45$) AND another stupid annual fee of 2019 about 79$ on January EVEN I’m on process to cancel the membership and mine will expire on the end of January 2019. Thank you New York Sports club for the verbal abuse I received from one of your members as she interrupted my personal training. I was called an awful name but none of your employees stepped in to support me. Your employees are spineless and support bullying of members.
The Club and the trainers get four stars. However when I had to have surgery and needed to have payments delayed until I could return I was told yes but continued to be billed and billed and billed.
The Livingston Club has a friendly helpful staff and good, knowledgeable trainers. Unfortunately some equipment goes missing and is not replaced. For example the square balance board has been gone for months, we used to have two sets of ropes one white and one black, now we have only one set. The floor needs to be vacuumed more than once per week. When machinery is broken it can take months before repairs are done. What can you do to prevent careless people from leaving bottles, towels, weights etc on the floors? I feel like... read more
