Before I found Nyhabitat It was a problem for me to move in Manhattan or Downtown Brooklyn because I am a foreigner - so most apts have lots of requirements, asking about credit score, proofs of income etc, but that's hard for me, cause I am new in US. I feel SWINDLED. They show pictures that are not reliable. The room was dirty, older and there were broken things. Shower curtains were 'trimmed' with duct tape. The agent (MIGUEL IGLESIAS) told me that they would return my money if the room wasn't as the one shown in the pictures (A LIE). I recommend you to go and visit the room for yourself and not WASTE your money with these people. They take advantage of foreigners.

Mon fils et moi nous apprêtons à fêter Noel à N.Y et je suis sûre que nous serons très satisfaits de l'appartement qu'il nous a conseillé à Harlem, non loin de Central Park. Déjà, il y a quelques années, Christophe nous avait réservé un très bon accueil au téléphone et loué pour 8 jours un appartement très bien situé dans l'East Village. I worked with Christophe Pourquier from NY habitat to find a home in Brooklyn. Even though we could not reach any agreements because we suddenly changed location and stuff, I am happy and satisfied with the service he has provided. I strongly recommend New York habitat and their excellent customer service. He was really nice and helpful.
I would STRONGLY advise against using NY Habitat based on our experience with them. The New York office listed an apartment in Paris which we leased for 10 months. The website explains that all properties have been inspected and the landlords vetted by NY Habitat but we do not believe that they had devoted any real effort in this regard to the property we rented. I worked with Christophe Pourquier from NY habitat to find my new home. He was really nice and helpful. Everyone knows how difficult it is to find a place in New York. But unexpectedly with Christophe, the process was very easy. I highly recommend NY habitat!
