I would NOT donate blood with NY blood center. One time 11 years ago I donated blood and they still harass me MONTHLY including calls before 8am. I’ve told them I don’t even live in NY. I also blocked dozens of their numbers and they still find a way to call. I refuse to donate blood anywhere but the Red Cross because of this. Lesson learned
Nice new facility
The staff are very nice but if you have somewhere to be, I would not recommend donating at this location. I’ve had to wait over an hour to be seen on 2 separate scheduled appointments - @ 12:30pm and 4:30pm. Contrastingly, I’ve been in and out the door in 30 minutes at mobile/pop-up locations. I hope they can improve to make it a more conducive environment for donors (who are already taking time out of their days).
Staff were very kind and friendly. They are also professional. The young lady did her best to register me quickly, although I didn't have any appointment.
