I saw Jenise years ago. Don't be fooled for her reasons for not accepting health insurance. When she started her practice she didn't say to herself I want emotionally suffering people to pay me out of pocket because I don't want them to be denied life insurance. Jenise simply doesn't want to deal with insurance companies and wants middle class people with middle class problems at her practice. I would like to see Jenise accept insurance. If you see Jenise be upfront so you know how long therapy will be. Or tell her you just want short term because it gets expensive real quick. Be specific about what you want to work on and your goals. If you don't then you will find that you aren't really talking about anything in particular and she will set you up for weekly appointments. I wish I had a chance to do it all over again but I already spent close to 1000 dollars.

I've found the time I spend talking with Jenise to be very helpful, and it has impacted my growth in a positive way. I would definitely recommend her practice.
