I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at the Family Justice Center. I came in seeking help for ongoing abuse and stalking after being in a 10-year abusive relationship. This was not easy for me, and I expected at least a basic level of empathy and support. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I’ve dealt with this organization almost a year with no results. I am Black though and this place is for white women only when it comes down to help blacks only receive counseling. I would suggest that you reach out to family or friends especially if you’re trying to stay alive. It appears that they work directly with your abuser to keep you coming back. If you’re seriously seeking safety and help this is not the place for Blacks.
