Friendly and helpful staff made for a good UUA General Assembly. The acoustics were much better than other convention centers I've visited.
REALLY, REALLY needs safer pedestrian crosswalks, such as a light that stops traffic for pedestrians. As an able bodied person, I was scared crossing from my hotel to the convention center bc of how quickly the cars drive and don't slow or stop for pedestrians. I felt at risk of being hit by a car more than once. I imagine that it's exponentially more scary and dangerous for people with wheelchairs and mobility issues.
This is the longest convention center I have ever experienced! It can accommodate several large conferences at the same time with plenty of meeting room spaces. My three negatives were the lack of cross walks or traffic signals along Convention Center, which is a very busy street, the colder air blowing toward the front of Hall B that people were borrowing clothing items to layer, and the distance between the R and 200 series rooms.
Was there for the SHRM Conference this week. Concessions were unprepared and showed no sense of urgency. No ice, no lids no lemonade or coke zero. When brought to staffs attention they took forever to get ice and never refilled the lids.
