I did the Face to Face PHP and received excellent care from staff. From intake to med management, to my specific needs, to discharge the care and staff were awesome. Would definitely recommend the program to others!
I brought my daughter to New Oakland’s partial program just before she met the age requirement, and they kindly made an exception. While the initial experience was okay, things improved only after filing a complaint about the intake therapist, Keke, who was dismissive and condescending when I tried to explain my daughter’s complex PTSD and triggers. Garbage. I missed one payment on my plan and I was discharged. I received no letters, no calls, no communication whatsoever. I only found out when I called to get a med refill today. They do not care that abrupt withdrawal from psych meds is dangerous. They only care about money. I was told that even if I paid my balance in full today, they still wouldn't be able to fill my meds and I would have to go through their intake process again. I would give this place negative stars if I could.
New Oakland has been there with me through all my ups and downs.!Therapy has taught me to use so many coping kills for those days I think I’m falling apart.!when I began having severe hallucinations they did not laugh at me but were there to see through it all. Kathleen F is a great doctor of psychiatry who knew ecactly what medications I needed. I’m a part of society today and living in a real world thanks to New Oakland Family Center. Sincerely yours B.J. The staff here is really nice and actually listens to my concerns. They were really attentive and helped provide me with tools to better deal with my mental health journey. They helped improve my confidence and made me feel heard. My experience was overwhelmingly positive, and I would encourage anyone who needs it to come here.
