That being said I always found it bizarre that he needed to look at my personal areas to treat me for Thyroid issues. It progressed from looking to "showing" me, a 14 year old, how to do a breast exam. Both breasts every visit, even if my mom was in the room. I also had an unfortunate experience with Dr. Brink as a child. I have uncomfortable memories in the exam room when he said inappropriate comments about my underwear, or the exams felt intrusive to put it lightly. My mom was always present during appointments, but he would do these exams in a dark room adjacent to his office. He was an excellent doctor, but do take extra precautions and always be present with your child.
