Dr Sommerville performed a nerve conduction study and electromyography (EMG) test on my lower extremities. These tests are not going to be on anyone’s top 10 list of things to do in their spare time but Dr Sommerville’s pleasant personality, the calming low music and the set up of the exam room all made for a very low stress test environment. I had nerve conduction test on both hands and both elbows. Dr. Brian Sommerville was the very best, he made me feel very comfortable and told me what to expect . Thank you. This is a stressful test, I would recommend anyone who needs this test done to see Dr. Sommerville at Neurological & Electrodiagnostic Institute in St. Louis

I received an EMG due to sciatic nerve pain, in hopes to understand the cause or origin of the pain. I heard that EMGs were one of the most excruciatingly painful procedures to experience, so I was petrified for this appointment. Additionally, I haven't had many good experiences with doctors in regard to understanding and treating this nerve pain, which began over one year ago.
