Forget the big name (ripoff) joints whose business model is simply to upsell you. I’ve been going to Nepean Optical in Rye for about 10 years now and they are fabulous. They work to your budget no matter what you can afford and provide the best care & service - indeed they provide many extra services at no charge like cleaning and adjustment. Not young kids working on commission. I am a retired professional engineer and I wouldn’t post this review unless it was 100% true.
The arm on my multifocal glasses was detached and the side clip that should attach the arm was broken. At Nepean Optical Rye, Dean managed to remove the broken clip, put in another clip and then repair the glasses. This was difficult, time consuming, done same day and free of charge!!! What excellent customer service…and very happy customer!!!
Love coming to Rye Optical, they always send me a reminder, which helps. It's great supporting a local business, Dean is always helpful and Kim is lovely, always friendly, I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have a great selection of frames and their pricing is competitive, beats supporting the bigger branded suppliers, who I originally dealt with, but changed over, after poor customer service experience.

I've never had a problem in here. The staff and very helpful in making an appointment for the opthamologist or choosing a new pair of glasses. They fix glasses, like when the screw fell off the my arm or other little repair job. I had to get a another screw fell out of my old glasses because I ordered new pair of glasses. I got my new pair of glasses and my old pair fixed just in case. It wasn't a problem at all.
