Was scheduled last Friday for a annual visit to be able to get my birth control shot. The only available time was 7am. I work and go to school and have very limited amount of time. After driving 40 minutes to get here, get in the room undress and sit and wait, the NA came in to tell me that the doctor isn’t Here he’s running late. I waited another 25 minutes and he still never showed. I had to be at work at 8am which was why I made a 7 AM appointment. MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. No. Just no. OB's like this man are the reason I prefer female OB's. I had an excellent OB, who suggested surgery, but said I could wait a few months to wrap my head around the situation. 4 months went by and unfortunately my original OB is not with Henry Ford any longer. The doctor came in, asked no questions regarding what had gone on since I was last seen, and proceeded to tell me he didn't see any reason for me to have the surgery. Dr. Simmerman and his team are very caring, down to earth, and they have done a great job taking care of me before, during, and after my surgery as well as during appointments. I highly recommend their clinic and hospital!

This doctor treated me with no respect, was dismissive, and cocky, and barely took the time to really talk to me about treatment options. When I showed up to my procedure, which I was nervous about--since I knew it would be painful, I requested pain management to be an option. He dismissed my concerns and felt uncomfortable when I told him about my worries about dismissal. I luckily refuse the procedure. He is a clear example of OBGYN violence.
