We went today for a 3:30pm appointment. The waiting area was dark and dingy looking. It felt dirty and small. I still let my 13 month old play, but he got a bath as soon as we got home. We got called back to the first room around 4:00pm, and it was fine. The diaper pale was overflowing. The lady then had me hold my son and she put in dilation drops. We absolutely love Dr. Spencer — he has cared for our daughter since she came home from the NICU, and we truly trust him. Unfortunately, the office staff is extremely disorganized, and it’s been a repeated issue. At her most recent appointment on June 18, we spent two full hours in the office for what should’ve been a simple annual checkup. Another parent was loudly arguing with staff right next to the playroom, which made me uneasy, and I should’ve trusted that instinct. After bringing my daughter here multiple times, starting with a great experience years ago, and now not so great. A eye prescription isn't very useful when you don't have a PD measurement. And kids eyes change constantly and glasses are costly. Our previous visit I forgot to ask about it over a year ago and tried figuring it out on my own because I didn't have time to wait another 3 months to get back in for an appt just to get the PD measurements and the extra cost of going to an optometrist after paying for the opthalmolog... read more
