I have a business in the same plaza in Essex. My new wife is a member, I am not yet. A customer paid with his tip money, $700 in $1s and $5s. The branch refused to exchange for more manageable bills because I'm not a member. Guess what? Now I ain't gonna be either.
The two people I spoke to today about a fraudulent debit on my account from my debit card were so helpful and understanding! They looked farther into it and found out it was my debit card and closed it right away and are issuing me a new one and getting my money back. So thankful for the help and reassurance today!

Always a challenge. I've been with NEFCU for over 10 years. I'm changing banks. Don't exceed your daily limit for a debit withdrawal. No help if you have an emergency and are stranded. They don't allow YOU to access to YOUR money. Ridiculousness.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall NEFCU is good. Open up a couple more branches (especially in the New North End) and have phone access to humans after 6pm and you'll get the other two stars and you'll be great. ;)
Foreced rearranged to Vermont - Applied to NEFCU for a mortgage - Great credit and a great Union job for 18 years - Denied with out any human call/cantact because I was "Not Eligible for Membership" Thanks for the hit on my credit report - Stear clear of these clowns
