I stayed at Nebraska Medicine after receiving a kidney/pancreas transplant and couldn’t be happier with my care. Every surgeon, doctor, nurse, tech and staff member went above and beyond to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I received multiple blood transfusions and procedures after the transplant and they kept my pain in check and literally helped me with every single request I had 24/7. Excellent care you can’t find everywhere.
For the past 40 years the doctors, nurses, staff, secretaries, cafeteria workers, cashiers, maintenance workers, technicians, etc. have treated me, our two sons and our families with respect, compassion, and the highest expertise. Our successful kidney transplants and continuing care have given us new life. I recommend UNMC to all I know who need it.
Pass on this facility and if you do use the transplant center set your expectations low so you won't be disappointed. Support staff, ie.case manager, social workers and others pretty poor patient service.
I thought Sacramento, California took a long time (4 months) to qualify for the Transplant list. In Omaha it took 11 months to complete their process only to find out that I did not qualify without any reason given. Moved to Nebraska to waste an entire year. Thanks for nothing UNMC.
