Update- it has now been 24 hours and my mother is still in the ER. This is a very REAL problem happening in our community. They do not have enough beds to accommodate patients coming in through the ER doors. I am beyond frustrated and alarmed by the experiences my family has had at Nebraska Medicine. Tonight, my 74-year-old mother, who is a transplant patient and has AFib, has already been sitting in the Emergency Department for three hours waiting to be seen. Nebraska Medicine will sell your medical debt to a debt collector within months of seeing you, even if you are in the middle of applying for financial aid, and retains no way to dispute with insurance once they do.

On August 18th I had a work accident and my right hand got crushed really bad so they transported me to Nebraska medicine hospital. I would like to give a huge thank you to Dr. Drake Geise and is amazing team. They explained to me in full details that I could understand what they were going to do to help me with my crushed hand. And they explained that they were going to do a block on my nerves because I needed over 50 stitches. So Dr. Drake Geise stitch my hand up for 2 and 1/2 hours. Never giving up.
