They gave us an expired parking permit, we registered our cars exactly the way they told us to. About 10 months in, our car gets towed in the middle of the night (~2AM), so we pick it up with a royal "what the hell is going on? Why am I being towed when I live here?" Turns out the owner of the town house failed to give us the updated tag, and we've been illegally parked in the area since.
