The front desk lady is HORRIBLE. I mean she’s actually such a rude person it’s insane. Can’t believe she works around kids. My 6 month old premature baby was dropped as a patient without notice for no apparent reason. We were not notified and they even kept our appointment (knowing our insurance wouldn’t cover it). We’ve had problems out of the front desk staff since day one. They even wrote my son’s wic prescription with the wrong birthday and we almost couldn’t get his formula. Could not recommend a more wonderful pediatrician as a first time mom to twins. From the very beginning, Dr. Ukwe has been nothing but encouraging, supportive, patient, respectful and incredibly genuine and kind. He brings a peace into the room every time. My husband and I are so grateful for him! We also love nurse Brittany. Very thankful a pediatrician like him exists in this area.
We are in between switching Drs because every time my son has been sick they can’t get him in to see Dr. Ukwe. Recently we were over due for a well check and they couldn’t get him in for 3.5 months. That held him back from starting preschool. Today I called for a referral to urgent care twice before they closed and never got it. We needed a referral a couple of weeks ago and they told me 20 min. Took them 30 min to get there and my husband still waited an hour for the referral to go through.
As far as Dr. Ukwe goes, you could not find a better more caring Dr. Some of his staff however is another story. I have been lied to and given the run around numerous times by his staff. Especially Mary, who can't seen to figure out how to properly request a referral and send it.
i absolutely love dr ukwe and his nurses we will be using him for our second baby if he has any availabilities we absolutely love the way he listens to the parents about the babies and is so knowledgeable hes so caring!!
