About a year ago, my wife and I looked into opening 529 accounts for our children. Our local Navy Federal branch referred us to Navy Federal Investment Services, where we were connected with a financial advisor named Carlos Delgado-Mejia. During our initial phone call, we explained our goals and shared our financial information. Navy Federal Credit Union regularly blocks account access for "fraud alerts", which is just me using my card/Zelle. This has happened multiple times and the only fix is going into a branch or writing a letter. Horrible customer service.
They didn't even respond to the BBB when they wouldn't credit obvious fraud. I was fooled by the knowledgeable reps on the 888 line but apparently the investigation department is lacking. It's a legal matter now baby (The Who)
Are you a vet? THANK YOU! I'm not, but I never discount how you've served our greater good. Unfortunately, Navy Federal does not. They closed 4 accounts I had with them, well into 5-figures, because I dropped the f-bomb with an outsourced CSR in Florida last year.
