I have been a patient of Dr. Ahmed's for approximately 2 years now and to be 100% transparent, many of these reviews are accurate. She can come off as "bossy" but that "bossy" spirit is also well respected within the medical community of physicians. My experience: Her "bossiness" pushed me to advocate for myself. Her "bossiness" pushed specialists to administer additional tests even when they felt it wasn't needed because they saw her name. Dr. Ahmed was the first rheumatologist of four that believed me when I told her I didn't have the typical symptoms of fibromyalgia. I ended up receiving treatment from a different specialty than rheumatology, but I appreciated that she took my symptoms seriously.
I have been with Dr. Ahmed for years. Her manner is bossy, blaming, and gruff. I think she is medically competent, but dealing with her and her staff is a nightmare. They lately have been giving me an unbelievable runaround, asking me to jump through the same hoops constantly. I had an appointment for months, and when I showed up, after I had waited over an hour, they insisted I didn't have an appointment and they were squeezing me in, and said I should understand because she was with a new patient, blah blah blah. If I could give negative stars, I would. Every time I saw the doctor, she was always at least 30 min behind schedule, yet she rushed through our appt. She was very condescending and unprofessional. She talked so fast, and belittled me when I asked her to repeat herself. She would repeat what she said just as quickly, so it was hard to understand what she wanted for tests. It was all very confusing and she was very accusatory with her comments. Be warned, stay away from this doctor. Has the worst bed side manners.
I had a great experience with Dr. Ahmed. She was very thorough and really listened. I felt heard and supported. She also recommended additional testing, which revealed an issue that would have otherwise gone overlooked, so I’m grateful for her guidance and expertise.
