We've been taking our three children to Dr. Segall for six years. She must have some kind of photographic memory because she will say things like, "Back in February, you came into the office. We were in this exam room and you said this thing. How was that going?" She has worked with us on tough diagnoses and treats the children with great respect, always making them feel heard. Dr. Segall is a very good doctor, but the policies and wait times and office staff leave much to be desired. we often had to wait for an hour or more after the appointment to get referrals or other paperwork. After a car accident my kids needed to be seen and we had to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed by our car insurance. It took several months for them to get us the itemized bill. We had to switch doctors due to insurance change and it costs $45 and took a month to transfer records.
Dr. Segall is a FANTASTIC pediatrician. She listens carefully to all of our questions, no matter how many we may have, and is always extremely knowledgeable about anything we bring up. One time, we were worried about our daughter and called the office, and she called back later that evening on her personal time to check up. She really goes above and beyond for her patients, we cannot recommend her highly enough.
We've been taking our daughter to Dr. Segall for 9 years and have always had a great experience with her. She's very thorough and listens to any questions/concerns we have. We don't live in the area anymore but continue to take our daughter to Dr. Segall for her annual checkups!
We used to take our kids to one of the "big" pediatric practices. In addition to being impersonal, we found that they tended to overtest to run up the bills as high as they could, and treated many of the parents with contempt. We have not experienced this at all with Dr. Segall. She is smart and responsive and takes the time to explain to both the patients (once they reach a certain age) and their parents. And if you have an emergency you can walk in and see her.
My child had a traditional ringworm . Dr. Segall insisted it was Exema even though it looked like a traditional ringworm: red circles. It didn't itch either. She insisted on Exema and prescribed Oatmeal bath and Exema lotion. Not only it didn't go away, but spread to the rest of my child's body. Seven years later, my child still has the sores, it's a chronic condition now. Turns out, you're not supposed to bathe with ringworm, only showers. If I could google it, how come a doctor didn't know it?
