Dr Jeffrey Nathason is a great GI doctor. I've been his patient for a long time now and wouldn't trade him for anyone else. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great GI doctor.
It has taken me awhile to write this. I really wish I didnt have to. I do! As a mother of a very sick 25 yr old with Crohns I do! My daughter had been seeing Dr Nathanson. For years! He was a fellow of Dr Ruben from University of Chicago. After what she went through and what Dr Nathanson ignored and caused I have to write this for other people! Dr Nathanson took the time and effort to discuss symptoms I was experiencing and recommend treatment that completely fixed my gut biome. I was told by previous GI Docs that I would need to adjust my diet and learn to live with IBS. Dr Nathanson was able to recommend the proper medication to fix the bad gut biome I had and help rebuild that environment with supplements. I am back to what I consider a normal unbothered food life again.
I did a lot of research to find a good gastro in the area. I booked my partner an appointment with Dr. Nathanson who had a 3 month waitlist to get in. Wanted to get tested fir Chron's. They took blood but "forgot" to order the Chrons testing. Paid $300+ out of pocket for a stool test. The stool test got "lost in the mail". I told them all of these concerns. Office never got back to me. We don't have hundreds of dollars to throw at medical specialists with no care in the world. Sad and dissapointed.
