Dr. M was fine but my knee replacement surgery was not successful. At my 6 week recheck, Dr. M had ne in the hospital for anesthesia and 'knee manipulation' the next day. It's been 8 months since my surgery and my knee is swollen, painful and less functional than before the surgery. Dr. M says 'no one to blame'. He mentioned he is retiring soon and I have my 1 year and possible revision appt. at UCSF.
Tried to get in to see Mintalucci after my previous doctor left the practice. First I was declined (no reason given. I then left a message asking if there was any way to find out why my case was declined? I was called by their office personnel and told I was never declined, my referral wasn't correct so to please resend it. I had it resent and I never heard from them. Luckily Dr. Bennett was the on-duty trauma surgeon when I suffered a multi-bone fracture of my ankle and was transported to the hospital. He repaired what he could immediately and then followed up with me on a bi-weekly basis to determine whether further repair was necessary or advisable. Laid out the options thoroughly and clearly which resulted in my avoiding more surgical procedures and resulted in a complete recovery. I highly recommend him.
In 2022, my husband had hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Elmer. However, Dr. Elmer never prescribed ANY post op physical therapy for my husband. I understand that by not doing so, the good doctor gets more money from insurers. As a result of the doctor's negligence, my husband had a very difficult time recovering, was in pain and unable to walk. Very rude, answers questions with sarcasm. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
I had the best experience possible with Dr. Mintalucci! He answered all my questions and took me on when others would not. He was my second surgeon for a compound fracture of my right (dominate) arm. My first surgery did not heal properly and so I needed a hand specialist. I was able to get in right away and Dr. Mintalucci understood that each passing day of waiting for surgery was only going to make repairing my arm that much more chancy and possible permanent lack of motion. Dr. M performed R hip replacement April 2022. The new hip was good but during the surgery and retraction of my leg muscles the sciatic nerve was damaged. I woke up w a drop foot and nerve pain. The nerve pain was alleviated by seeing a body worker who realigned my muscles. I suffered w a drop foot for year. I had to use a walker for months, then a cane and AFO boot for 8 mos. Was is very fun to talk to, He said he really enjoys his job. Said my surgery was at 100% success, he repaired my fractured femur and installed a new hip from a fall I had. Highly recommend!
Had a ruptured Achilles tendon. had surgery by Dr. Nathan Ehmer, DO and all went well that day. Aftercare was nightmare. Nathan saw i was infected, and he chose to not treat it. Not even a course of antibiotics. ended up getting another surgery and years of pain. The repair was not good anyway as the surgean that repaired my leg the second time showed me plastic what was like heavy fishing line that had been poking out of the skin of my leg.
