I was very surprised by my experience with Dr. McKenzie, given all the glowing reviews. I'm writing as a caregiver, not to question her medical expertise, but to share deep concerns about communication and follow-through from her and her staff. During my loved one’s lengthy hospitalization after surgery, getting clear updates on diagnosis, prognosis, or care plans was nearly impossible. I have had a nightmarish experience with her and her staff from the person answering the phones all the way up to Dr. McKenzie herself regarding poor communication, lack of follow up, and lack of follow through on promises made for calls back or other requests. Dr. McKenzie is a wonderful doctor. My visit at the office, short wait time, she answered every single one of my questions. I did not feel rushed through appointment. She explained to me my options and we made a plan that she made sure I was comfortable with. Day of surgery , before while waiting she would pop into my room several times to make sure I was ok. answered questions I had honestly
Dr Mckenzie is an amazing surgeon, a warrior for her patients and just all around a blessing. Very recently she performed surgery on my daughter who is 17 . We found ourselves in a very scary place , we’ve never been in our lives and she kept us calm with her confidence and amazing bedside manner . She really made me feel comfortable leaving my child’s life in her hands essentially. She helped my daughter in most beautiful non invasive way possible. Dr. McKenzie was very professional, caring & compassionate. She is very attentive & considerate of my concerns. I went to her for a second opinion on the need for surgery. She takes her time to answer all questions. I would highly recommend her especially if one is newly diagnosed with cancer. I was impressed with her resume. Office staff, medical assistants & nurses are very friendly & make you feel comfortable.

She saved my life. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she performed a hysterectomy and followed up with chemotherapy. It was a difficult road but Dr. McKenzie was there every step of the way. I got the feeling that she genuinely cares for her patients and she is very attentive and understanding. She was highly recommended to us by my gynecologist and now I know why. She is the best.
I came to know Dr. McKenzie from my primary care doctor in my hometown. I travel 120miles that is roundtrip to see Dr.McKenzie. Her entire team at Florida Hospital is caring,concerned and helpful! Did my surgery at UFL. Loved her, so caring & would explain things & answer questions for me & my husband. She is now at FL hospital & I continue to see her!
