I can't express HOW disappointed I am with this provider. Our experience was so bad, we literally had to file a formal complaint. Ms. Stephens said everything correct in the initial consultation, made us feel like the patient (family) was in competent hands... and then the day of surgery/after, this lady did a 180° and was very demeaning, has extremely poor communication with the patient and other staff - doesn't put in orders/restrictions in, but became angry when things weren't followed to her liking. Obscene bedside manner & refusing to explain procedures or plans. When asked how things went she responded she didn’t know.

Dr Stephens was very professional from the get go. She tells you exactly how it is, no sugar coating, which is nice when you are facing surgery. Dan her surgical scheduling assistant was awesome as well! I would recommend her with zero issues.

The worst experience with a doctor I’ve ever had. She was the most condescending person I’ve ever spoken to in my life- questioning me about irrelevant matters that had nothing to do with the condition about which I was there to see her. She could not answer questions with any degree of patience or understanding and acted as if I were incompetent. She needs to hang up the towel or get some professional help - there are plenty of general surgeons out there. Please don’t waste your time or money with this one.

Dr. Stephens makes time for her patients. I have had one surgery and one procedure years later. Both recovery times were quick. During both occasions, I felt that she thoroughly answered my questions in easy terminology that helped my confidence in making medical decisions. She is very accessible with follow up questions and demonstrates a deep knowledge of her field of medicine, especially with current research. I would highly recommend her as a doctor and surgeon.

I have had two procedures with Dr. Stephens. She is very thoughtful and thorough. Dr. Stephens and her staff did an excellent job. I was informed and cared for very well before, during and after my procedure.

Horrible bedside manner, botched first surgery that led to a second more radical one. She insisted on blaming my mom for the fact that she was not healing quickly enough after the first by saying that she was not eating enough protein. My mom was at my house during that time so I know exactly what she was consuming. I would never let her touch another member of my family. The office was bad at returning my calls as well and never responded to my request for a meeting with her.

Dr. Stephens was knowledgeable, explained everything to me in easy to understand terms, gave me all of my options, and patiently waited for my answer. She was on time for all of my appointments and put me at ease with a very difficult diagnosis. She followed up after my surgery with a personal call with path results. Always friendly. Hospital staff highly recommended her and I do as well.
