I ended up with Dr. Baylog early on in my Lupus diagnosis. The diagnosis itself was devastating to where it had effects on my mental health. I recall crying to her about the changes and symptoms I was experiencing. She responded with “What do you want?” “You’re never going to feel good.” Though it’s been over a decade, I remember like it was yesterday. A treatment she had me try had given me a fever and had me hospitalized for 9 days. She insisted that I continue because there hadn’t been significant testing on African Ameri... read more

I am so glad she is not my normal rheumatologist! I am having a painful flare up. She called me back as the Dr. on call. When I said hello, she very loudly and quickly said something I did not understand. I said pardon me? She then loudly and rudely stated “Dr. Balog, I was paged” as if I was inconveniencing her. I asked if she was from Rheumatology because I had never dealt with her before. She said yes so I explained my symptoms to which she rudely snapped “So what do you want”? I was silent, stunned. I had never had a doc... read more

Based on the two appointments I have had with her so far, I would highly recommend Dr. Balog! I could tell that she had carefully read through my history, symptoms, and prior labs before my first appointment. During both appointments she was attentive and focused, listened fully to my descriptions of my symptoms, and took the time to answer any questions and explain lab results. She also did not discount or "explain away" any of my symptoms or questions.

Excellent doctor. She is helpful, compassionate, and personable. Checking in at her office is not convenient. There is a sign that asks patients to scan a QR code and self check in. My husband is visually impaired. The ladies behind the counter told him how to check in, but I knew he wouldn't figure it out, so I tried to help him, but the internet was so slow that it never worked. So the ladies behind the counter checked him in. I'm am sure someone over their head thought self check in would be a great idea, but I am guessin... read more
