I had been wanting to try this salon for a long time, so I finally booked an appointment for a wedding I was attending. Since they specialize in loc styles of all lengths and my hair is shoulder-length, I trusted that they would be able to guide me toward a beautiful, event-appropriate style. So I came back to try the shop again. My first time coming I left looking older than I usually look (I'm pretty youthful) and not like what I showed in their selected hairstyles on their menu. Very disappointed I am not sure why I keep putting my trust in this establishment this is the second time in which on my birthday when I have important obligations to attend that my appointment is being canceled this is very disappointing and at that try to put someone who don’t have an understanding of a black man’s crown to do is locs is diabolically culturally disrespectful. Been going here for a few years starting when they were located near the west end. Loving the new location as it is closer to my house. Akilah (Kiwi) has been my stylist since probably my 2nd visit and I request her everytime. She’s very personable and has a great spirit and her work is always quick but efficient (I normally just get a wash and comb retwist so I’m not in the salon all day). It’s always a welcoming environment.
I have come to this location numerous times and every time I have had an exceptional experience. Everyone is so nice, they greet you immediately when you enter and the washes are always top tier! The stylists are amazing and my styles are always gorgeous. I definitely recommend this salon.
