Dr. Nancy stood out to me due to her expertise and caring manner. She is one of the only physicians that I have worked with in my cancer journey who recognized that I am not a typical case, and told me as such. What a breath of fresh air to encounter a doctor that doesn't just follow what everyone else is doing. She may be busy but she is worth the wait.

In 1993, diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, I referred myself to Shands in Gainesville for a second opinion about surgery and treatment course. We were so impressed that we made the decision to have my surgery and radiation at Shands. Several months after my surgery, I began my six week radiation therapy. I am so very proud to say Dr. Nancy Mendenhall was my radiation oncologist during my treatment and has continued to see me every year for 24 years. Dr. Nancy is simply the best!
During my appointments Dr. Mendenhall was really attentive to my concerns. She is a great listener and is very kind and caring. I was extremely happy and feel very fortunate for having her as my doctor.
