I was told by this doctor that I would not need Chemo at all and she could not understand why I made an appointment with an oncologist. It turned out that I did in fact need chemo. She needs to stay in her lane. I am visiting another surgeon today to discuss a mastectomy.

She was very specific with my case, she told me what my possible scenarios would be and treated me in a very personal way, she helped me with my studies and appointments. My surgery was excellent, she did a very good job.

I honestly cannot believe this woman is practicing medicine. She was rude and condesending. She complained about me being in a wheelchair, saying It would be the hardest part of her day. She was very rushed and her medical assistant came in without knocking after I was already exposed, door side open to the hallway. She was packing the wound with gauze and ran out. She didn't bother to get more and said Oh well, I'll have to use what I have. Which wasn't enough so she added more medical tape instead. No directions on how to ... read more

She was horrible. My husband and I left her office shaking and in tears. She said I would "lose everything" in the mastectomy process and would be "lucky" if I could reconstruct. That was on a Friday. On Monday morning I went to Massachusetts General, where Dr. Michelle Specht could do my mastectomy surgeries and save skin and nipple. I had great reconstruction. I teach exercise to cancer patients and have heard her referred to as "the butcher."

I would NEVER recommend Dr. Landay to anyone. She attempted a breast core biopsy in the office. She struggled with the procedure (2 hrs), missed the lump, and was unable to deploy the clip in my breast. The experience was horrendous and her bedside manner during equally bad. Today, I had to have a 2nd (45 min) core biopsy (years later) and was revisited by the the terror/anxiety of the experience. The radiologist today was the polar opposite of Landay - professional, skilled, thorough, and kind.

Based on other reviews, I expected to have a negative experience with this doctor. However, it turned out to be a very positive experience. She was pleasant and friendly and had a nice bedside manner. She did a through exam and was not in a rush. She answered my questions and explained everything clearly. Other reviewers said she lacked empathy and compassion. My impression was just the opposite. Perhaps she read the bad reviews adjusted how she related to patients. Bottom line: I liked her.
