Only 15-20 minutes from downtown Santa Fe, this authentic trading post has been brought to new heights over the past four years by the mother-daughter team of Jennifer Jesse and Cathy Smith. Both are incredibly talented artists. Their work, and the work of many others — both vintage and new — are available here. You won't want to miss it!

Cathy was very welcoming and explained many of the things we saw. She introduced us to a Hopi kachina carver. The shop is full of wonderful and beautiful things. She also sent us up to the Santuario de Chimayo.

If you are in Santa Fe or even considering a trip near there, you have to go to The Nambe Trading Post. Fascinating place with beautiful artwork, jewelry, hats, items of the Great Southwest and two of the most interesting and talented people we have ever met! You have to go there!!!

Stopping yesterday, it was a fun experience. The people there were very friendly and interesting to talk to. The bead work on the Indian clothes was fabulous and seeing her Emmy was really cool.

So impressed with the friendliness of Cathy and her nephew upon our arrival yesterday. We were made to feel welcome, and the history of the post was explained very well. Purchased a gorgeous turquoise necklace here, as well as a collectable arrowhead and green chile dip mix. Wonderful selection of Native American art and history. Wish I could have spent much more time (and money!) here. Well worth the visit--make the time to stop in here. You won't regret it!
