What a wonderful find. There are not many restaurant's like this one left. It is located on a pristine river, and the food is great. Oysters on the half shell were the best I found in the area. Ther fish dinners were great, not only fried but grilled and saute fish. Service was very good and our server was very knowledgeable about local seafood. My husband & I love going to this restaurant. We moved to North Port 4 years ago, after living in Sarasota. I was raised in Sarasota and spent most of my life there. One of my favorite places to go was the Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar. The Myakka Oyster Bar reminds me of that. And while many of their items are served in plastic baskets, they are trying to conserve precious water in the area by not having to run their dishwashers as much. Food is Ok, but they serve you on paper plates with plastic utensils. For the price and the fact that this is a sit-down, eat-in restaurant, I want real utensils and plates.
