I have known Katharine Bergacs (Owner & Executive Director of My Place for Peace) for many years. I watched Kate grow and blossom. Her devotion to her family as a daughter, sister, wife and nurturing mother is exceptional. Kate is smart, perspicacious, and wise beyond her years. Kate’s most outstanding qualities are her compassion, honesty and integrity. These skills are most sought in her profession and there is no doubt in my mind that she is an astounding professional. I am glad she is engaged in services like this.

My experience just to get started was so terrible I ended up not seeking therapy during a very difficult time in my life. It was so bad I often think about it because I took my previous one star review down after they reached out to me to try to "fix" it, but I don't think they have the tools to repair the trust they had broken in me. I feel terrible even writing this review - but it weighs on my conscious not to. I would be better off today if I had never reached out to My Place for Peace. I had to find peace on my own.

This is the coldest, least empathetic facility I have ever encountered. I highly recommend against going here if you need to speak with someone who will care, especially Nancy.

I’d say it might work if you’re just dealing with lighter stuff, but for anything deeper I honestly wouldn’t recommend it. A big part of therapy is feeling safe, and I never really felt that. I couldn’t fully trust them or relax enough to open up, which kind of defeats the whole point. I also felt rushed into talking about things I wasn’t ready to share in the first few sessions, and that just made me shut down more. Instead of feeling supported, I felt pressured. It's been a few years since I've worked with them. If you're issues are serious, do not go to them. They had dropped me from their program after I had gone to a PHP program (that they themselves reffered me to!) and left me with no referrals to any other professionals or offices... (Which is something that they're required to do) Professional in some ways, completely lacking in others.
