I have to admit, this was the one surgery that I swore I would never have done! Too many horror stories concerning Back surgery. However, due to the simple fact that I had cancer on my L3 vertebrae, plus a fracture of same vertebrae from Radiation treatment left me with little choice! I am writing this review out of sheer desperation to warn others. My experience with Dr. Muwaffak M Abdulhak, MD was nothing short of catastrophic. From the initial consultation, he was dismissive, rude, and had a terrible bedside manner. He did not listen to a word I said, brushing off my symptoms and concerns. The worst most unethical and unprofessional “doctor” I have ever seen! This guy (I can’t even call him a doctor because no doctor would act like he did) conducted a surgery on my father that failed and put my father in much worse pain than he was in before having his surgery. The worst part is when my father did his follow up, this guy tried to tell my father that his pain is from his arthritis and refused to run any additional testing to see why my father is still experiencing pain. Dr Muwaffak Abdulhak is one of the greatest doctors I had the privilege of meeting he walked us through every bit of my mothers surgery and made sure she was going to be In good hands. Post surgery 3-months she can now walk and as very happy.
"Extremely unprofessional first encounter. During a sick visit, the neurosurgeon named Dr Abdulhaq veered off into inappropriate and unrelated questions about political views. This was not only uncomfortable but entirely uncalled for in a medical setting where the focus should be on patient care and health. I expected professionalism and compassion, but left feeling frustrated and unheard. I do not recommend this provider."
