Last fall I came down with a nasty virus. Long story short I went to the ER at Munson Healthcare in Manistee and was tested for flu and Covid and eventually sent home with the diagnosis of viral infection. I paid my deductible before leaving and went home. Fast forward to recently and I receive a bill in the mail for an additional $457 dollars because the hospital coded it as a level 2 treatment (life threatening) due to the virus testing.
