So so sad to see how run down this beautiful and historic hotel/pub has become. I was so looking forward to showing the hotel to two friends from the UK and having lunch however, we were disappointed in the general state of the hotel, lack of staff and eating areas. The "sunroom" was basic to say the least and had a large table full of dirty dishes that hadn't been cleared and full of flies - hardly inviting. We camped at Hills Forest campground, walked here along the bibbulman track, had a gorgeous lunch in the sunroom, down to Mundaring Weir, back up here for icecream in the garden, and a hike back to camp! What a gorgeous, relaxed day out, the food, location and charm of the grand old building were wonderful.
