So far it has been a great experience. I really enjoy and appreciate the parent classes and parent support group. When dealing with a child who is struggling, we put a lot of focus on them but not so much on ourselves and these support classes help us as parents to navigate our roles as caretakers and help us to show up for our child in a more meaningful and helpful way.

My suicidal teen just spent 68 days at Muir Wood. They just returned home a week ago, so too early to tell just how medium / long-term effective the program will be. But I could not have asked for anything more. Their therapist (Haley) is the best therapist I have ever worked with (including mine). Haley challenged my teen lovingly to look hard at the issues causing them distress, and taught them how to grow / make peace with them and how to communicate about them with family and close friends. place made me bottom line insane from giving me the wrong meds. thanks guys for the emotional damage still carrying onto me a year later, and doing absolutely nothing but gaslighting parents into thinking this is the best option 🫰.

We experienced significant delays and unclear communication during the admissions process. While our daughter’s case was “under review,” we were encouraged to wait, which limited our ability to secure care elsewhere. Ultimately, the program declined and provided general referrals. For families seeking urgent help, this process can feel misleading and costly in terms of time. Clear timelines and earlier communication would make a meaningful difference.
