As a parent, sending your child to treatment is one of the hardest things you’ll ever have to do. My daughter was at Muirwood Makeena home for 45 days, and I can honestly say it was an amazing experience for our family. The staff and therapists truly care. They helped my daughter get back on track and gave her tools and coping skills that she didn’t have before. That alone means everything to me. I hate how everyone here is reviewing it when they never experienced the stuff this place makes you go through there were only a few staff that actually cared about the kids and not just the job

Unlike everyone here, I was unfortunately an actual resident at the Fresno location. And let me just say, I’d rather be in active addiction. On paper all these things Muir wood promised sound great, but it just miserable and depressing. The staff don’t treat you as humans, but they make minimal effort into kinda acting like they’re listening. They have no understanding of teenagers and what they go through being in a residential house away from everything they knew. They’re only concerned about going to their home everyday w... read more

This facility provided great assistance to not only my teenager, but to my wife and I as well. We received parental support group meetings, and wonderful communication with the facility. There were weekly group meetings including us, our teen, and the on-site therapist. A lot of learning took place for us and our teen over the course of a little over a month. The facility is beautiful, spacious enough for long hikes, and the boys even have a gym where they can do daily workouts.
