I went to buy something me rambutans, which I do frequently. I went in today and the sign beneath them said "fresh rambutan $2.39 per pound" The packages were marked $3.99 per pound! This is not the first time I have encountered incorrect pricing. I went to check out & apprised the clerk of the discrepancy. A woman, who I had discussed incorrect pricing before, took the sign which I had taken down & took to the register and proceeded to rip it up!!!!! She refused to honor the posted price. I went there several times, everything good many fresh veg I and meal.
Plus: lots of unusual items you won't find many other places, huge selection, lots of live fish and seafood. Produce selection is also very good. Smells much like seafood or a fish market, but I actually liked that. Minus: There was a small bird flying around the produce section, and who knows what it's doing with the food. Also the cashier was having a conversation in another language - I think Vietnamese - with a bagger in another lane while checking me out, which I thought was very rude and poor customer service. Staff is always awesome. Helpful, friendly, quick. Always have the freshest produce and seafood. Hard to find items, too. Never seem them out of stock of anything. Even though we live an hour away, we make as many trips as possible just to shop here.
This is the stickiest store in Austin! How do the get away with this health wise? Many other store sell fresh fish as well but NEVER stinks like this one? I usually drop my wife off and go do other errands and then come back and pick her up! I try to stay out of the store as much as possible! Gag a maggot!
