About this business
The Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor enjoys a position of significance not only in the city but also the entire nation as the second oldest garden cemeteries. Designed and established by Charles Bryant in 1834, which was interestingly the same year that Bangor was deemed a city, it is located on Outer State Street. Although situated amongst beautiful surroundings, the cemetery was, interestingly, used to shoot major portions of the 1988 horror flick Pet Sematary.

RecommendedWalking throughout the cemetery
Just had a good friend of mine show me pictures on Facebook that showed very poor work done with the mowing and manicuriing around the headstones and to be honest with you I am absolutely LIVID that my brother is resting peacefully there around all of the weeds. This needs to be taken care of immediately...!!!!
Beautifully landscaped. Nice place to walk
It is the MOST gorgeous cemetery around, full of history, and a fantastic place for a walk. I've been going there for years, and always notice something different each time, special monuments, etc. The ground workers are superb! (It's also the home of my final resting place)!
Very old cemetery. Interesting walk and read the tombstones.
