Stay away from this place they are liars, I gave them my ins.info they told me a price over the phone I paid it when I went for my MRI then sent me a bill for 439.20 a month later. They don't tell you the full price so you can get it done then surprise you, if I knew it was going to cost me that much I would done it at the hospital when I got the order, stay away or call your ins yourself and find out the cost they are very deceptive about telling you the full cost until you've had the procedure done. I would like to formally express my concern regarding the quality of service my wife and I recently experienced at AKUMIN facilities. In our eight years of residence in the United States, we have never previously found it necessary to file a complaint with any healthcare provider or medical-related service. On June 12 I called to make an appointment for a breast ultrasound. Juan Carlos took the information, including the type of exam I needed and didn't say a word that according to the policy of Akumin I will need a mammogram first (I am 35 years old, no history of cancer in family, no implants). I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis since 2016. I have approximately 20 lesions in my brain so annually, I am required to get MRI’s on my brain, c-spine, thoracic spine and my lumbar spine. With and without contrast for all of them. Any other office that I’ve ever been to for the scans, to include hospitals, Florida Medical Clinic, Tower Radiology, etc, have taken approximately 4 hours for all the MRI’s, spread over multiple days. never going back i needed to do ct scan of head, 4 hours fasting, 1 hour drive each direction to reach the place to be informed that the machine is down.... then receptionist yelled at me when i asked why i was not informed.....

The equipment is very old. It takes forever to go in. It’s dirty  and smelly. You need more staff. I’m going somewhere else for my bone density.

I gave them a one star, because a zero star is not available. Location is under construction and the waiting room is mosquito infested. Front office staff is completely unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and should be relieved of their duties. Positions in the health field should be given to people who actually care about others. Akumen located at 8300 W Sunrise Blvd, Plantation, FL 33322 should be closed.

The call center which I believe is out of the US as everyone you speak with barely speaks English.  This company is horrible. I don’t know how they stay in business!  I had an appointment which they let me know if I canceled within 24 hours that I would still be billed. The day of my appointment they sent me a text 6:50 am to let me know that my 9:00 appointment was cancelled because they did not have a technician on site at that time.  I have had another experience in the past with similar negative results.  I would not eve... read more

I'm a retired physician. While the overworked staff and especially Brenda the were fine, my results were delayed nearly 2 weeks. I was only able to get them by calling a supervisor Kameko, who was also very nice and did get the results that day. And the reading was by a very qualified doctor. This is not satisfactory by any means. They are dealing with sick patients even though they are ambulatory, and delay can be disastrous. I read many other people with the same complaints. It has been almost two weeks and my Dr still doesn't have the results of my CT scan. They need to open the images and examine the results. A fax will not do, and its not 1999. This is delaying my surgery, and now I have to take 3 hours of my day to drive and get a CD to take to my Drs office. What a horrible place to do business. While the people are nice at the facility, what good is that if the results are not provided to the Dr??
