The place was dead with just 2 tables occupied. walked in and the male host in the front right away told us they won't take us without a reservation. We had a 2 year old with us and he still didn't care. simply told us it will be a 2 hour wait. Never advised us that we could simply go online and make a reservation. We stepped out and made a reservation online right away and walked back in within 3 mins. This time there was a female host and she gave us a table right away!!. The wife and I enjoyed the bar. For a slow Monday the service was a little lacking in my opinion, the bartenders could have been paying a little bit more attention. BUT the drinks were very good, the prices weren't bad. The view Mr. Purple offered sold us. It was brisk evening but it still was enjoyable to be outside. Spring and fall time I would be there weekly and outside on their patios. So yes when you visit NYC make a trip to Mr. Purple.
