Friendly staff, clean room, and modern decor. Fun check in at the bar with free drinks, roof top deck was beautiful to watch sunset, and ping pong table! Light menu was perfect. and food was delicious. There was free lemonade, goldfish, and lollipops. Pooch friendly, valet parking, and Starbucks downstairs. Just a heartbeat from the heart of the city. You could walk but it was about 100* when we were there.
Yes the rooms are small. Moxy over in NY the rooms are small too of course. They have always been BUT their rooftop bar is gorgeous and they have great bartenders too. You have Blum Coffee 2 min walk away and more restaurants a little further. Blum also has 28 dollar bottles of wine too too bring back to the room. You are here to sleep in the comfy bed and leave again to explore. The Moxy is modern and for the price is the cheapest in downtown. Yes the rooms are not luxurious and they are small OK so is the price compared to the other hotels in Charleston with similar downtown location. We loved their rooftop bar and we too walked to Blum Coffee at 7 am to enjoy their delicious lattes. Bottles there are also dirt cheap. The Moxy anf there is one in NY has always had small rooms as is for business people and not really families. With that said you can also of course pay 800 a night and be luxurious. Service was outstanding but rooms are entirely to small it's the same concept as a hostel. The room is the size of a closet and bed is full size bed not queen. The hotel has a club vibe with check in desk on 6th with a bar where you can buy drinks. I think Marriott messed up on this concept and rooms are over priced. If they were going to do a hostel style hotel at least have it where rooms are a little bigger and have chairs in them.
Loved loved this hotel . okay, the rooms are small, but so is the small price tag compare to the other charleston hotels. definitely, walk the two minutes to blom.Coffee and wine bar because their coffee, wine, their beer, everything there is absolutely amazing inclusive of their champagne.
