This hotel was really disappointing. Let’s start with the reception and valet service the staff were not welcoming, didn’t smile, and barely provided any useful information. The neighborhood also felt very unsafe at night, with a large homeless population around the area. Overall, I would not recommend staying here.
With this hotel Moxy, you either love it or you hate it.We absolutely loved it. not to mention, we love the price, as it's one of the most affordable places to stay in downtown charleston. everything else was 2, 3 and even 5 times more a night. for a family to stay here, I wouldn't recommend, but if it's just two couples or a couple or just somebody solo doing business this is the ideal location. love the fact that I can walk to bloom.It's an easy two minute swift walk down the road at 7 a m and get my morning coffee and my ... read more
I hesitate to give poor marks for service, because, for the most part, the staff here is amazing! They are super friendly, but my problem is more with the unseen executives who seem to be completely out of touch with what their clientele wants and so often needs. The two examples that immediately come to mind are the following: — When I call, there is some sort of juvenile robotic-sounding answering system (“If.you’d.like.to.chit.chat.” and “Here’s.the.scoop.”). State of the Moxy while visiting Charleston for business . This hotel, you either love it or you hate it. We absolutely loved it because you can't beat the price and everything is close by in downtown. For drinks and also to work remote, we did go to blum coffee and wine bar walking. very well worth the two minute quick walk for sure. We would also get pur wine bottles from there as theyee only $28. Their glasses of wine are 8 to 10. Love staying at Moxy when in town for business. Enjoyed morning walks over to BLUM coffee which is a 2 minute quick stroll for my morning latte and pastries. It's a quiet place to work from and beautiful inside. Great wine specials at their wine bar and they're open 7 days a week which is a plus in Charleston
