RecommendedI bought a fantastic commissioned, top-of-the-line Mowry F-5 a few years back for a song from Italian mandolinist Gatto Massimo ("Top Cat" in my fractured Itálian); Cat's bad divorce and my great good luck. Sent fresh from workshop in Bend to family in Seattle area, I play it on visits there and it awaits first lessons I'll eventually give my grandson there. I own one, fine tone, excellent craftsmanship. You can say that about a lot of mandolins these are something special.
I visited Carter's Vintage Guitars in Nashville today and played a new Mowry F5 and I have to say that it was the most balanced and loudest mandolin on the wall. These mandolins are a work of art. The craftsmanship is the best I've seen. I hope that a new Mowry mandolin purchase will be in my future.
