DO NOT RENT from Mountain and Plains. The final straw for leaving this review was keeping our deposit to pay for maintenance that the property management and/or home owner failed to take responsibility for. I had pictures and proof that these issues were present at move in yet they are fully justified in taking OUR MONEY. Its disgusting they can get away with this. The house needed so many repairs before we even moved in but apparently they had planned to fix these with our hard earned money. Also, dont waste your time clean... read more

My experience was incredibly negative. The main issue was their negligence in dealing with a leak, and their poor communication, which resulted in a loss of trust. The ceiling was left open after repairs (in a unit that is attached to other homes, and where I was told it must be sealed to prevent the spread of fire). They admit that while the repairs were being completed, mice entered the apartment, but also told me that any mice after move-in are my responsibility. Slumlords best describes this company. We briefly rented a home from them in ******** and what you get for the price you pay is honestly pathetic. Nothing except the carpet has been updated in this house. No fans in bedrooms, not even a microwave in the kitchen. AC went out in June and it was days before hearing back from the maintenance manager. I actually fixed the unit (for free!) and was disgusted when I pulled it apart. This business seems to be barely able to operate due to their ineffective communication and delegation. It's felt like a part time job just to keep holding them accountable for the numerous things neglected upon move in. It's a shame that companies operate this way and it's evident MnP needs extensive reorganization if they truly want to be the "best property management company in northern Colorado." I would not recommend this place. The apartment was dirty when i moved into it. I left it cleaner then when i left. I was still charged a cleaning fee. The maintenance guy was not professional and never did the work he was suppose to of done. He entered the home to supposedly do some maintenance work. The only thing that was done the day he came when i was at work was calked the window and calked the back kitchen counter from the fridge to the stove. By far the worst company I have ever rented with. Their customer service is horrific! They always treated me in a demeaning manner and made me feel less than, no matter how kind I was to them. They are in the business to charge outrageous fees for anything they can and will not work with the tenant. I was so displeased with how they treated my that I was willing to break my lease early.
