I was here involuntarily. I had not even attempted suicide, still got sent here. I pleaded not to send me there though. While spending more than a week on the 3rd floor, I realized two things, one is you can't get out from this Inpatient unit by acting normal. You will be there till your doctors decide. Second, it is a mistake to be 100% honest at the intake appointment. I would say the inpatient unit was better than the last hospital I was at. My stay was neither pleasant nor unpleasant entirely. Mount Sinai is not a behavioral health center. It is a management center. All staff use “policy” as pretext to manage bodies, not treatment. Go there with agency, and they will attempt to break you. Maintaining funding is Mount Sinai’s number one priority. Patients be damned.

I just received a letter from MSRivington to inform me that I will not be seen as a patient, even though I am a former patient for years. The reason they stated was that I missed a few appointments. I contacted MSRivington and spoke to a clerk and explained that I was having surgical procedures. And also did a follow up on MyChart. Which evidently no one reads.
