I have done three personal retreats at the Mount Madonna Center during this past year. The focus of my retreats was practicing yoga and writing poetry. I stayed in the spare but comfortable cabins in the Redwood forest. Singing and chanting at the Hanuman Temple with this kind and welcoming community was a big highlight. In my interactions, I found that the community members really embodied Baba Hari Dass's teaching, "…welcome people without fear…" I look forward to returning again in the future.
Mount Madonna Center continues to offer and provide some of the most authentic programs and teachings in Classical Ashtanga Yoga out there. Their Yoga Teacher Training programs are genuine and in-depth while properly preparing and training students to enter into the teaching realm or yoga.
There are not enough words to describe how incredible this place is.
If you go there and listen to silence you may sense an overwhelming peace and beauty. Just fall in love with it. Magical!
What an incredibly beautiful retreat center! The magic starts with the drive up highway 152 through forest to the upper slopes of Mount Madonna. The property overlooks Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. From the moment of arrival my wife and I were met with warm and professional courtesy.
